Boat Speed is a casual reference tool, not a certified marine instrument.
Speed is derived from your device's built-in GPS and is shown as speed over ground. Its accuracy depends on factors outside our control — GPS signal quality, satellite geometry, weather, surroundings, and your device's hardware — and readings may be delayed, imprecise, or unavailable. The app is not a substitute for certified navigation, speed, or safety equipment, and must not be used as a primary or sole source for navigation or any safety-critical decision.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DevPocket accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from use of, or reliance on, the app or any speed it displays. Boat Speed does not track you, and it collects no information about you whatsoever.
The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or SDKs. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data — there is no data to collect.
Boat Speed uses your device's GPS for one purpose only: to calculate and display your current speed on your screen, in real time. Your location is used entirely on your device. It is never recorded, never stored, and never transmitted off your device — the app does not connect to any server, and we operate no servers that could receive it.
The Apple Watch app works the same way and stores nothing. The Lock-Screen Live Activity shows your current speed on your own device only.
Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children. It is safe for users of any age.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
